For our PUERTO MATE we only use the best ingredients - and they mainly come from South America. The subtropical climate and the particularly fertile soil allow the Yerba Mate grow under the best conditions and ensure the highest quality. We are particularly proud of our yerba Mate - because it is a specially created variety and comes from our plantation in Puerto Esperanza, Argentina. That's why there was only one Mate only one name was possible: PUERTO MATE.

Origin
On 25 September 1926, the Swiss agronomist and engineer Gustavo Keller, accompanied by Alfonso Scherer, Enrique O. Bucher and Gustavo Ernst, travelled to Puerto Esperanza in Argentina, a traditional cultivation area for Yerba Mate. Using special agricultural techniques, they succeeded in cultivating the stimulating plant, which not only laid the foundation for PUERTO MATE but also for a town with almost 18,000 inhabitants today.
