Our Tereré is traditionally cold-brewed and is therefore particularly aromatic and energising. We cherish the fact that we have created a refreshing companion for everyday life that combines the positive effects of Mate and pomegranate.

A Mate, as energising and stimulating as the South Americans have been enjoying it in convivial gatherings for centuries. And we truly mean it - because Tereré is traditionally cold-brewed which is particularly aromatic and invigorating.

Raw materials
For our PUERTO MATE we use only the best ingredients – and they come mainly from South America. The subtropical climate and the particularly fertile soil allow the Mate to grow under the best conditions and ensure the highest quality and a particularly aromatic taste. We are particularly proud of our Yerba Mate - because it is a specially created variety and comes from our plantation in Puerto Esperanza. That's why there was only one name for our Mate: PUERTO MATE.

Origin
On 25 September 1926, the Swiss agronomist and engineer Gustavo Keller, accompanied by Alfonso Scherer, Enrique O. Bucher and Gustavo Ernst, travelled to Puerto Esperanza in Argentina, a traditional Yerba Mate cultivation area. Using special agricultural techniques, they succeeded in cultivating the stimulating plant, thus laying the foundation not only for PUERTO MATE® but also for a city with almost 18,000 inhabitants today.
